About Mark Six
Mark Six is the lottery of Hong Kong, run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), the not-for-profit organisation that also operates the city’s horse racing and football betting. Six numbers are drawn from 1 to 49, followed by an Extra Number from the same drum. Draws are normally held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, but the calendar is fitted around the racing programme and public holidays, so individual weeks can differ.
The results on this page are taken from HKJC’s official results service and checked after every draw. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and has no connection with the Hong Kong Jockey Club; we show the winning numbers, the seven prize divisions and the estimated first-division prize for the next draw.
How to play
Choose six numbers from 1 to 49. A single selection costs HK$10; a half unit at HK$5 is also available and pays half the prize. You can mark your own numbers, let the terminal pick them, or make a multiple entry that covers every six-number combination of the numbers you mark, at a higher price. Draws are at 9:30 pm Hong Kong time and are broadcast live.
Tickets are sold at HKJC off-course betting branches and through the Club’s own betting account services, and only within Hong Kong. Because the draw schedule follows the racing calendar, HKJC publishes the date of each upcoming draw in advance, and the next-draw date shown on this page comes from that announcement rather than from a fixed weekly pattern.
Odds
The odds of winning the Mark Six jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816: 6 numbers from 1–49.
Prizes and jackpot
There are seven prize divisions. The seventh (three numbers), sixth (three numbers plus the Extra Number) and fifth (four numbers) divisions pay fixed amounts of HK$40, HK$320 and HK$640 per unit. The fourth (four plus the Extra Number), third (five), second (five plus the Extra Number) and first (all six) divisions are pari-mutuel, sharing the remaining prize fund according to a fixed allocation, so their amounts vary from draw to draw.
When the first division is not won its share is carried forward, so the first prize accumulates from one draw to the next. HKJC also holds Snowball draws on special occasions such as the Lunar New Year, when an additional Snowball pool built up from earlier draws is added to the first division; those draws appear in the archive with the Snowball name.
History
Mark Six was launched in 1975 and has been run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club throughout. The number pool has been widened over the years, most recently in 2002 when it grew from 47 to 49 numbers, the format still in use. A fixed share of every dollar bet goes to the Government’s Lotteries Fund, which finances social welfare projects in Hong Kong.
Frequently asked questions
When is Mark Six drawn?
Usually on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 9:30 pm Hong Kong time, but the schedule follows the racing calendar and public holidays. Some weeks have a draw on a different day or one draw fewer; the next-draw date on this page comes from HKJC’s own announcement.
What are the odds of winning the first division?
Six numbers from 49: 1 in 13,983,816 for a single HK$10 selection.
What is the Extra Number?
A seventh ball drawn from the same drum after the six winning numbers. It counts only in combination: three, four or five main numbers plus the Extra Number move a ticket up to the sixth, fourth or second division.
What is a Snowball draw?
A special draw, typically around festivals such as the Lunar New Year, in which a Snowball pool accumulated from earlier draws is added to the first division. It is drawn with the same numbers and rules as a normal draw.
Can I buy Mark Six tickets from outside Hong Kong?
No. Tickets are sold only by HKJC within Hong Kong. LuckyNumberz shows the official results but does not sell tickets.
