About Set For Life

Set For Life is the National Lottery’s annuity game in the United Kingdom: instead of a lump sum, the top prize is paid as £10,000 every month for 30 years. It is run under licence by Allwyn, which took over from Camelot in February 2024, and it is drawn on Monday and Thursday evenings.

This page shows the five main numbers and the Life Ball for each draw, from the National Lottery’s official results feed, together with the prize breakdown. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and is not connected with Allwyn or the National Lottery.

How to play

A line costs £1.50. Pick five numbers from 1 to 47 and one Life Ball from 1 to 10, or take a Lucky Dip and have them generated at random. A single ticket can carry the same line for several consecutive draws, and you can choose Monday only, Thursday only or both.

Tickets are sold by National Lottery retailers and through the operator’s website and app. Sales close shortly before the 8:00 pm draw, and a ticket bought after that goes into the following draw. The Life Ball is drawn from its own machine, separate from the five main numbers.

Odds

The odds of winning the Set For Life jackpot are 1 in 15,339,390: 5 numbers from 1–47 plus one from 1–10.

Prizes and jackpot

There are eight prize tiers, and all of them are fixed amounts. The lowest, for matching two main numbers, pays £5. Matching five main numbers without the Life Ball wins £10,000 every month for one year; matching five plus the Life Ball wins the top prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years.

Because the top prize is an annuity rather than a pool, it does not roll over, and this page does not show a growing jackpot for it. The monthly payments run for the full term, and the amounts do not depend on how many tickets were sold or how many other players matched the same numbers.

History

Set For Life was launched in March 2019 as the National Lottery’s first game with a monthly-income top prize, following similar annuity games in other countries. Its matrix of five numbers from 47 plus a Life Ball from 10, and its Monday and Thursday draw days, have not changed since launch.

Frequently asked questions

When is Set For Life drawn?

Monday and Thursday at about 8:00 pm UK time. Results are published shortly afterwards.

What are the odds of winning the top prize?

Five numbers from 47 plus a Life Ball from 10: 1 in 15,339,390. Five numbers without the Life Ball, the second prize, is about 1 in 1,704,377.

Can the top prize be taken as a lump sum?

No. The top prize is defined as £10,000 a month for 30 years and is paid monthly over that period.

Why is there no jackpot amount on this page?

Because the top prize is a fixed annuity. It is the same in every draw and does not grow, so there is nothing to estimate.

How long do I have to claim?

180 days from the draw date.
