About Totoloto
Totoloto is Portugal’s national numbers lottery, run by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa under its Jogos Santa Casa brand. Five numbers are drawn from a pool of 49, and a separate drum then produces the Número da Sorte, a lucky number from 1 to 13. It is drawn twice a week and is one of the most widely played games in the country.
This page shows the five numbers and the Número da Sorte for each draw, taken from the operator’s official results page, along with the published prize breakdown and the jackpot announced for the next draw. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and is not affiliated with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.
How to play
Choose five numbers from 1 to 49 and one lucky number from 1 to 13. You can mark the numbers yourself or ask for a random selection. Draws are held on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 20:00 Lisbon time, and sales for each draw close shortly before it starts.
Tickets are sold at Jogos Santa Casa outlets throughout Portugal and through the operator’s official website and app. One ticket can carry several bets, and you can choose to play more than five numbers in a multiple bet that covers every five-number combination among them, at a correspondingly higher price. A ticket can also be entered for several consecutive draws.
Odds
The odds of winning the Totoloto jackpot are 1 in 24,789,492: 5 numbers from 1–49 plus one from 1–13.
Prizes and jackpot
The top prize goes to a ticket that matches all five numbers and the Número da Sorte. Because the lucky number comes from a separate drum, five correct numbers on their own is the second prize category. Lower categories reward four, three and two numbers, with or without the lucky number. The operator publishes the number of winners and the amount per winner for every category after each draw, and those figures appear on this page.
When the top prize is not won it rolls over to the next draw. Most prize amounts are pari-mutuel: each category receives a share of the prize fund, so what a winner receives depends on sales and on how many tickets share the same category.
History
Totoloto was launched in 1985 as a companion to the Totobola football pools that Santa Casa had run since the 1960s. The game originally used six numbers from 49; in 2011 it was redesigned into the current format of five numbers from 49 plus a separate lucky number from 1 to 13, which made the top prize rarer and allowed larger rollovers.
Frequently asked questions
When is Totoloto drawn?
On Wednesdays and Saturdays at 20:00 Lisbon time. Results and the prize breakdown are published the same evening.
What are the odds of winning the Totoloto top prize?
Five numbers from 49 give 1,906,884 combinations, and the lucky number from 1 to 13 multiplies that by thirteen: 1 in 24,789,492.
What is the Número da Sorte?
A lucky number from 1 to 13 drawn from its own drum after the five main numbers. It is required for the top prize and adds to the prizes of several lower categories.
Are the numbers shown in the order they were drawn?
The operator publishes both the drawn order and the sorted key. Only the set of numbers matters for prizes, so this page lists them in ascending order.
