About Loto 6
Loto 6 is one of Japan’s numbers lotteries, part of the takarakuji family of public lotteries sold on behalf of the prefectures and major cities. Mizuho Bank handles ticket sales, draws and prize payments and publishes the official winning numbers, which is where the results on this page come from.
Every draw here lists the six main numbers, the bonus number, the number of winners in each prize tier and, when the first prize is not won, the carryover that moves into the next draw. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and has no connection with Mizuho Bank or the takarakuji organisers.
How to play
Choose six numbers from 1 to 43. A single line costs ¥200, and you can pick the numbers yourself or let the terminal choose them at random. Tickets are sold at takarakuji counters, at Mizuho Bank branches and ATMs, and online through the official takarakuji website.
Draws are held on Monday and Thursday evenings at 18:45 Tokyo time. One ticket can be entered for several consecutive draws, so the same six numbers can run draw after draw without buying a new ticket each time.
Odds
The odds of winning the Loto 6 jackpot are 1 in 6,096,454: 6 numbers from 1–43.
Prizes and jackpot
There are five prize tiers. First prize is for all six main numbers; second is five main numbers plus the bonus number, a seventh ball drawn from the same drum; third, fourth and fifth are for five, four and three main numbers. The fifth tier pays a fixed ¥1,000, while the upper tiers are shared among the winners from the prize pool and vary from draw to draw.
When nobody wins first prize, the money is carried over and added to the first-prize pool of the next draw. Mizuho publishes this carryover amount with each result, and that is the figure shown here: it is the sum carried forward, not an estimate of the next jackpot.
History
Loto 6 was launched in October 2000 as Japan’s first six-number lottery, following the earlier Numbers and Mini Loto games. It was drawn once a week, on Thursdays, for its first decade; the Monday draw was added in 2011, doubling the number of draws.
The six-from-43 matrix has not changed since the launch, so the whole archive is directly comparable from the first draw to today.
Frequently asked questions
When is Loto 6 drawn?
Monday and Thursday at 18:45 Tokyo time. Mizuho Bank publishes the numbers the same evening.
What are the odds of winning first prize?
Six numbers from 43: 1 in 6,096,454 per line.
What is the bonus number?
A seventh ball drawn from the same drum after the six main numbers. It is only used for the second prize, which goes to players who matched five main numbers plus the bonus.
What does carryover mean?
If no ticket matches all six numbers, the first-prize money is not paid out; it is carried over into the next draw’s first-prize pool. The carryover figure on this page is that amount as published by Mizuho Bank.
Does LuckyNumberz sell Loto 6 tickets?
No. Tickets are sold in Japan through the official takarakuji channels. This page only shows the official results and checks your saved numbers against them.
