About Loto 7

Loto 7 is the largest of Japan’s takarakuji numbers games: seven numbers from 37, two bonus numbers and a single weekly draw on Friday. Like Loto 6 it is administered by Mizuho Bank on behalf of the prefectural and city lottery organisers, and Mizuho’s published results are the source for this page.

Each result here lists the seven main numbers, both bonus numbers, the winners and prize in every tier, and the carryover when the first prize is not won. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and is not affiliated with Mizuho Bank or the takarakuji organisers.

How to play

Pick seven numbers from 1 to 37. A line costs ¥300, a little more than Loto 6, and a random selection option lets the terminal choose for you. Tickets are sold at takarakuji counters, Mizuho Bank branches and ATMs, and through the official takarakuji website.

There is one draw a week, on Friday at 18:45 Tokyo time. As with Loto 6, a ticket can be bought for several consecutive draws in one go, and sales for each draw close before the drawing begins.

Odds

The odds of winning the Loto 7 jackpot are 1 in 10,295,472: 7 numbers from 1–37.

Prizes and jackpot

There are six prize tiers. First prize needs all seven main numbers; second is six main numbers plus one of the two bonus numbers; third is six main numbers; fourth and fifth are five and four main numbers; and sixth is three main numbers plus one bonus number. The bonus numbers are two extra balls drawn from the same drum after the seven main numbers.

An unwon first prize is carried over to the next Friday’s draw and added to its first-prize pool. Because there is only one draw a week and the odds are the longest of the Japanese Loto games, carryovers in Loto 7 can accumulate over several weeks; the carryover figure published by Mizuho is what this page shows.

History

Loto 7 was introduced in April 2013 as a bigger-prize alternative to Loto 6, with more numbers to match, a higher ticket price and a larger first prize. It has kept its seven-from-37 format with two bonus numbers since the first draw, so every result in the archive follows the same rules.

Frequently asked questions

When is Loto 7 drawn?

Every Friday at 18:45 Tokyo time. Results are published by Mizuho Bank the same evening.

What are the odds of winning first prize?

Seven numbers from 37: 1 in 10,295,472 per line.

Why are there two bonus numbers?

Two extra balls are drawn after the seven main numbers. They create the second tier (six main numbers plus one bonus) and the sixth tier (three main numbers plus one bonus); the first prize does not require them.

How is Loto 7 different from Loto 6?

Loto 7 draws seven numbers from 37 with two bonus balls, costs ¥300 a line and is drawn once a week; Loto 6 draws six from 43 with one bonus ball, costs ¥200 and is drawn twice a week.

Does LuckyNumberz sell Loto 7 tickets?

No. We show the official results only; tickets are sold in Japan through takarakuji channels.
