About Lotto (Norway)
Lotto is the Saturday lottery of Norsk Tipping, the state-owned company that holds the Norwegian gaming monopoly. Seven numbers are drawn from a pool of 34, followed by one extra ball, the tilleggstall, from the same drum. The draw has been a Saturday-evening ritual on Norwegian television since the 1980s.
The numbers on this page come from Norsk Tipping’s official results service and are checked after every draw. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and has no connection with Norsk Tipping; we show the results, the prize tiers and the estimated first-prize pool for the next draw.
How to play
Pick seven numbers from 1 to 34 on each row, or let the system choose them for you. Rows are inexpensive and a slip can hold many of them, so it is common to play several rows at once. Draws are on Saturday at 6:30 pm Oslo time; sales close on the evening of the draw and the deadline is published by the operator.
Tickets are sold by Norsk Tipping’s retail agents across Norway and through the operator’s website and app, both of which require a Norwegian player account. Because the operator is the country’s sole licensed lottery, every Lotto ticket sold in Norway comes from the same source.
Odds
The odds of winning the Lotto (Norway) jackpot are 1 in 5,379,616: 7 numbers from 1–34.
Prizes and jackpot
There are five prize tiers: seven correct numbers, six correct plus the tilleggstall, six correct, five correct and four correct. The top tier is the first-prize pool, which is shared among all tickets with seven correct numbers. Each tier receives a fixed share of the prize fund, so amounts vary with sales and with the number of winners.
When nobody has seven correct numbers the first-prize pool rolls over to the next Saturday. From time to time Norsk Tipping also holds a Supertrekning, an additional special draw with its own prizes, which shows up in the archive as an extra tier on the draws concerned.
History
Lotto was launched by Norsk Tipping in 1986 and has used seven numbers from 34 throughout. The number of extra balls changed on 21 March 2015: until then three tilleggstall were drawn, and since then only one. Older results on this page therefore show three extra numbers rather than one.
Frequently asked questions
When is Norwegian Lotto drawn?
Every Saturday at 6:30 pm Oslo time. Results appear on this page shortly after Norsk Tipping publishes them.
What are the odds of seven correct numbers?
Seven numbers from 34: 1 in 5,379,616 for a single row.
What is the tilleggstall?
An extra ball drawn from the same drum after the seven main numbers. It only counts for the second tier, six correct numbers plus the tilleggstall.
Why do old draws show three extra numbers?
Until March 2015 three tilleggstall were drawn per draw. The rule changed on 21 March 2015 to a single extra number, and the archive keeps each draw as it was actually drawn.
