About Set for Life (Australia)

Set for Life is the Lott’s daily annuity game: the Division 1 prize is $20,000 a month for 20 years, paid as regular income rather than a lump sum. Seven numbers are drawn from 1 to 44 with two supplementary numbers, every evening of the week at 9:00 pm Sydney time. Like the other national games it is sold through the Lott in most states and Lotterywest in Western Australia.

This page shows the seven winning numbers and the two supplementaries for every nightly draw, with the division prizes published by the operator. Because the top prize is a fixed annuity, there is no growing jackpot to display. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and has no connection with the Lott or Lotterywest.

How to play

Pick seven numbers from 1 to 44 for each game, or take a QuickPick. An entry can cover a run of consecutive daily draws, so the same set of numbers plays night after night rather than for a single evening. System entries with more than seven numbers are also available. Prices per game are set by each state lottery.

Tickets are sold in lottery outlets and through the operators’ websites and apps. Sales close each evening ahead of the 9:00 pm draw, an hour later than the Lott’s other draws, and results are published shortly after.

Odds

The odds of winning the Set for Life (Australia) jackpot are 1 in 38,320,568: 7 numbers from 1–44.

Prizes and jackpot

There are eight divisions. Division 1 is all seven winning numbers and pays $20,000 a month for 20 years; Division 2 is six numbers plus one supplementary and pays $5,000 a month for one year. Divisions 3 to 8 — six numbers, five plus a supplementary, five, four plus a supplementary, four, and three plus a supplementary — are paid as ordinary one-off amounts.

The two annuity prizes are fixed and do not roll over: if nobody wins Division 1 on a given night, nothing carries forward to the next draw. The lower divisions are paid from the prize fund and vary with sales and the number of winners.

History

Set for Life started in August 2015 as an eight-number game from 37 balls, drawn every day. In May 2020 it was redesigned to the current format of seven numbers from 44 with two supplementary numbers, while keeping the daily draw and the monthly-income top prize that give the game its name.

Frequently asked questions

When is Set for Life drawn?

Every evening at 9:00 pm Sydney time, seven days a week. Results are published shortly after the draw.

What are the odds of winning Division 1?

Seven numbers from 44: 1 in 38,320,568 for a single game.

Is the Division 1 prize paid as a lump sum?

No. It is defined as $20,000 a month for 20 years and paid monthly over that period. Division 2 is likewise $5,000 a month for one year.

Why does this page show no jackpot for Set for Life?

Because the top prize is fixed. It is the same every night and does not accumulate, so there is no estimated amount to show.

What are the supplementary numbers used for?

The two supplementaries are drawn from the same barrel after the seven winning numbers. They count only in Divisions 2, 4, 6 and 8.
