About Taiwan Lotto 6/49
Taiwan Lotto 6/49, known locally as 大樂透 (Da Le Tou, “Big Lotto”), is the flagship jackpot game of Taiwan Lottery, the company licensed by the government to run the island’s public-welfare lottery. Six numbers and a special number are drawn from a pool of 49 twice a week in Taipei, and the jackpot rolls over until someone matches all six.
This page shows the six numbers and the special number for every draw in our archive, the prize breakdown by tier and the carried-over jackpot for the next draw, read from Taiwan Lottery’s official results service. LuckyNumberz does not sell tickets and has no connection with Taiwan Lottery.
How to play
Choose six numbers from 1 to 49; a single entry costs NT$50. You can mark the numbers yourself or ask for a computer pick, and one ticket can cover several consecutive draws. A seventh ball, the special number (特別號), is drawn from the same machine after the six main numbers, so it is never the same as one of them and you do not choose it.
Regular draws are held on Tuesday and Friday at 20:30 Taipei time. During the Lunar New Year holiday the operator adds extra draws on consecutive days, so for about a week each year the game is drawn daily. Tickets are sold at Taiwan Lottery retailers across Taiwan.
Odds
The odds of winning the Taiwan Lotto 6/49 jackpot are 1 in 13,983,816: 6 numbers from 1–49.
Prizes and jackpot
There are eight prize tiers. Matching all six main numbers wins the jackpot; five main numbers plus the special number is the second tier, followed by five, four plus special, four, three plus special, two plus special and three. The three lowest tiers are fixed amounts, while the upper tiers share percentages of the prize fund and vary with sales.
When nobody matches six numbers, the jackpot fund is carried over to the next draw, and the figure shown on this page for the next draw is that carried-over amount published by the operator. After a win the jackpot restarts from a guaranteed minimum.
History
Taiwan Lottery took over the public-welfare lottery licence in 2007, and the archive on this page starts with the draws of January 2007. The 6/49 matrix with a special number from the same drum has been in use throughout that period. The extra Lunar New Year draws are a fixed feature of the game: each year the archive shows a cluster of consecutive daily draws around the holiday, with the exact dates shifting with the lunar calendar.
Frequently asked questions
When is Taiwan Lotto 6/49 drawn?
Tuesday and Friday at 20:30 Taipei time, with additional daily draws during the Lunar New Year holiday.
What are the odds of winning the jackpot?
Six numbers from 49: 1 in 13,983,816. The special number is not required for the jackpot.
Do I pick the special number?
No. It is the seventh ball from the same drum. It only matters in the tiers that combine main-number matches with the special number, such as five plus special.
Why are there draws on days other than Tuesday and Friday?
Those are the Lunar New Year draws. The operator adds daily draws for the holiday period, and their dates move every year with the lunar calendar.
